Something I was supposed to give to you the other day to help you feel better about your hand but I had no motivation to so it’s late :/… I’m usually just a lurker and too scared to come off anon ^^’ But I felt it was time I made something for you because… Well, you deserve it.. You’re always making beautiful art and awesome comics for us and I love them all so much, so I wanted to make you something in return for all your hard work <3 (You don’t have to draw it by the way, I know you usually do but I don’t want you to strain your hand o.o’)
Oooooh man THANK YOU! That is so sweet of you, gosh! Really thank you so much, I love it! Thank you sososo much for the picture and the sweet message, you’ve made my day. cx (and I’ll probably end up drawing it at some point later anyways because it looks like a lot of fun YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO)
Hi Madde! I've been reading My Pet Vampire and I've been loving it, and I've been thinking of starting my own comic, and I was wondering what kind of advice you could give me about developing it. Like, is there anything you wish you knew when you first started out? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Ummmmm. Very good question. Honestly most of the things I’ve learned since starting, are things you learn by doing, rather than things I can just give out as tips. Drawing a comic has been a constant learning process and I’m STILL figuring things out as I’m going. You’re most likely learn the most out of just… starting it and experimenting and see what happens.
… Buuuut because no one likes vague answers like this, I can try to think of something a little more directly usable. Hrrrm.
Oh right! Don’t try to squeeze too much information into each page! Pretty important, I found that out pretty quickly. Avoid introducing more than one or two new elements per page. If you’re ever struggling with the fact that you don’t have enough room for everything on your page, you’re probably introducing way too many things at once and should consider splitting the page into two.
Same with long lines of dialogue. If you’ve got a panel where the words are taking up over 50% of a panel and you absolutely cannot cut any of it, it most likely needs it’s own page.
Good luck with your comic!
Is there a way I can send you things? Pictures? You don't have a submit box
Oh sorry! I’ll go and enable that right now!
Here, have some HOT SEXY VAMPIRE BITING ACTION
I need to practice working at drawing at a larger size, so here’s some Rick doodles. So sketchy! Eventually I’ll get the hang of it.
My Pet Vampire has been canceled and will from now on be replaced by Risto’s Pet Vampire
My Pet Vampire: Busted? - Page 1
Oh hey, look at that! Sarah and Matt’s mom actually exists in this comic! Now how is she going to explain this one?
dont tell me you're not gonna post anymore old art! Its so cool to see some of the prototypes of your OCs and how your art and ideas have changed and evolved.
Hahah, thank you!
I might still post stuff every once in a while! Especially on slow days when I’m not drawing much. Don’t worry, I still have plenty of sketchbooks to go through!
Things that will never happen!
Actually drew this a good while ago, during the prologue, but never uploaded because I forgot about it’s existence
Can vampires have different skintones, like humans do?
Absolutely! They’re just like humans in that regard.
Are all vampires assholes like Rick?
Probably not all of them, but most old vampires from the middle ages were nobles, and thus had a tendency to be entitled dickweeds.
